This year, Sony Music Nashville teamed up with Nashville’s newest entertainment complex, Nashville Live!, on CMA Awards night for the Ultimate Viewing Party. Hosted by the crew from Raised Rowdy, we turned a typical viewing party into one all out celebration featuring fan / artist games, pop-up performances during commercial breaks, and giveaways throughout the night. Collaborating with our friends at Draft Kings, Happenstance Whiskey, High Rise Beverage Co, and Molson Coors, this event was free & open to the public for everyone to view the show and enjoy music with Nashville’s next generation of superstars!

H.G. Hill Middle School Event
Restless Road and volunteers from Sony Music Nashville and Provident Group planned a big surprise for 200 music and theater students at H.G. Hill Middle School in November just in time for the holidays. Restless Road performed an exclusive acoustic concert AND announced that Soles 4 Souls would be providing each student with a new pair of shoes and socks. Each student was fitted and styled on site, leaving with a clean pair of kicks and a smile on their face!
This year’s Sony Music Group Global Season of Giving initiative focused on providing aid to organizations addressing food insecurity, homelessness, and education through charitable contributions across Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, Continental Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Once again, we partnered with our friends at Ricoh to build a Sony Music Entertainment takeover at their high value vendor meetings in Denver. From collaborating with Blue Moon Brewing Co on hosting Ricoh’s 400 guests (and brewing a custom Ricoh Red signature beer), to working with Victrola on setting up a one-of-a-kind record store gifting experience, our team led all the planning and activation so Ricoh’s team could enjoy hosting their clients.

High Rise Beverage Co joined SMN in September this year as our first 365 brand partnership! As part of the deal, they are providing consistent seltzer product in our office / studio spaces and to our artists on the road. They are also part of our tentpole events throughout the year. To celebrate the announcement of our partnership and to welcome HRBC to Nashville, we threw a launch party at the 1 Hotel’s Harriet’s Rooftop and welcomed their board of directors and investors to the SMN office for a behind the scenes tour.

In collaboration with our radio promotion team, we created an exclusive event to celebrate David Coors’ startup whiskey brands Barmen 1873 Bourbon and Five Trail. The event was attended by KWBL winners, Molson Coors leadership team and key on / off premise accounts for the Coors team. The Thompson Hotel also hosted high value hotel guests who received an invite to the event via a handwritten note and Nate Smith vinyl record that was dropped in each suite along with a Victrola Record Player. KWBL’s Chelsea Thomas hosted a fun Q&A with Nate and David highlighting the synergies between creating compelling music and great whiskey.

We’ve been building a relationship between Chris Young and Chevrolet for a few years now so when Chevy decided they wanted to surprise a school teacher with a new vehicle in honor of the CMA Awards, Chris jumped at the opportunity to honor his high school music teacher, Mrs. Brenda Gregory. The segment aired during the Awards show and Chris made an appearance on stage with Mrs. Gregory to honor other difference-makers in the audience including military and first responders.

Results – 13 artists participated in the Rock the Red Kettle campaign, performing their favorite Holiday songs and shopping for Angel Tree families, to help raise awareness and “Rescue Christmas” for millions of Americans in the 2020 Holiday season.

‘Homesick (veterans version)’ BENEFITTING THE purple bag project
Objective – Create a version of Kane Brown’s ‘Homesick’ to honor military service members, veterans and their families.
Results – In celebration of the American heroes who are keeping our country safe, we’ve recorded a special version of “Homesick” with some inspiring Veterans. For every stream of “Homesick (Veterans Version)” The Crown Royal Purple Bag Project will pack 1 care package and donate $1 to support American Heroes serving on the frontlines of Covid-19 and veteran social justice initiatives. Veterans featured on the track include US Veterans J.W. Cortés (Ret. Gunnery Sergeant, US Marine Corps), Sal Gonzalez (Ret. Lance Corporal, US Marine Corps) and Generald Wilson (Ret. US Navy 1st Class Petty Officer).

Objective – Lend Mitchell’s voice and experience of losing his father to a scalable resource for patients and families going through a cancer journey.
Results – Created a first of its kind family room space in Nashville’s Hope Lodge for patients to enjoy throughout their treatment stay at the facility. The room features a mural by Mitchell’s friend Sidney Clawson, full Playstation system with VR and game selection, and furniture provided by Ashley Homestore.

The artists hosted social takeovers throughout the night on Wrangler and Acme channels while mingling with fans and playing games for VIP giveaways. The entire night raised money for the CMA Foundation!
